The title for this weekly or bi-weekly compendium of links and recommendations comes from this quote from "Conscious Uncoupling”:

Resource
I have been following closely Montana Rep. Zoey Zephyr’s response to silencing by Republicans. Something about her optimism and determination is so inspiring. Her significant other, journalist Erin Reed, has a fantastic newsletter called Erin in the Morning. It’s full of information and ways to help fight anti-trans laws.

Wendy at Open Water wrote about whether or not to hide your gross lady stuff from your husband. Reminded me of the advice to young faculty to stay silent during faculty meetings until tenured.
Socioeconomic roots of academia. Almost half of current Biology professors have at least one parent with a Master’s or PhD (compare to less than 7% of the overall US population). Meritocracy, my a$$.
Watching/Listening
The 6-part Audible podcast Buying Time and accompanying Wire story about the anti-aging company BioViva were fascinating. I would love to know what folks in the anti-aging industry think about this company, Liz Parrish, and the others involved.
The Judy Blume documentary “Judy Blume Forever” on Amazon Prime was delightful. My favorite part was seeing her books sketched out as mind maps! I’m looking forward to seeing the film version of “Are you there, God”.
LOLs
Vinny Thomas is a national treasure. Here, as a cockroach at the Met Gala.
Drop any suggestions for resources, reading, watching, or LOLzing in the comments. I’m all ears! Have a great weekend and I’ll be back here with a new essay next week.
