Really appreciate how the Compost format makes space for both input and output without flattening them into some productivity metric. That line about "just formulate the problem correctly" from Chekhov via Saunders kinda nails why curated consumption itself can be generative. The nature photo commitment is smart too, builds structure around attentio nwithout turning it into content production for once.

Oh, thank you! You somehow noticed a thread running through my thinking these days, which is how to feel accomplishment without focusing on productivity, how to trust myself to let things percolate without feeling lazy.

Thank you! Woke up this Saturday feeling so uninspired and, what's worse, being whiny about it. Then found your compost mix. Thanks for passing on some inspiration!

OMG, Liz. I love so much of this! Thanks for the reminder of We Can Do Hard Things. I'm such a fan of Tressie McMillan Cottom. LOVE all the Scene on Radio seasons. They put ideas and history together brilliantly. I've assigned them to my students. Once you're done w/ Capitalism, if you haven't already, check out Season 5, The Repair and Season 2, Seeing White. Season 4 is about democracy -- not sure I have the heart for that one these days.

I listened to the Saunders interview while running in the pouring rain. It was perfect, so intimate. I just love his gentle humility and sense of fun.

And thank you for the intro to Matt Moberg. Not being much on social media, I missed his viral moment. What a remarkable young man. I love that he's also a painter, and up front about being in recovery.

Great idea to get out and photograph every day. Those are beautiful photos!

Thank you, Julie! We must have very similar tastes. I will definitely check out earlier seasons of Scene on Radio. . .
